A Sustainable Cruise Supply Chain

The logistics and supply chain may not be the first activity that comes to mind when considering sustainable cruise tourism. While the work may be carried out behind the scenes, consolidating freight shipments can significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

Blue Water Shipping has partnered with SpaceInvader on a system to improve the sustainability of the transport of goods to and from ships. By using SpaceInvader’s pallet racks, the trucks are loaded optimally, with more pallets able to be stacked on top of each other during transport. In turn, this reduces the number of lorries and trips needed for deliveries to and from ships. The climate partnership has seen reductions in CO2 emissions of up to 50% per trip.

“Our responsibility reaches beyond our business and into our partners’ supply chain”
